35 Years of Fear — One Coin, Multiple Displays
This is not your standard two-sided challenge coin.
The Unofficial Halloween Horror Nights 35 — “35 Years of Fear” Hinged Collector Coin was designed as a miniature display piece packed with detail on the front, back, and inside.
The obverse places Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow front and center against a dramatic carnival backdrop. Deep-relief sculpting, antique silver metalwork, vivid red enamel, eerie green accents, dimensional facial features, and decorative scrollwork give the design depth from nearly every viewing angle.
Turn the piece over and the reverse becomes a celebration of 35 Years of Fear, with an ornate carnival presentation surrounding a large central “35” security-inspired emblem. Skulls, spiderwebs, hanging lights, striped tent panels, and layered sculptural elements continue the theme across the entire surface.
But the centerpiece of the design is hidden inside.
Open the Doors
The hinged side panels open outward to reveal a detailed interior scene filled with sculpted horror characters and imagery.
Instead of relying on color, the interior uses an antique-metal presentation that gives the artwork the appearance of a miniature engraved monument. The densely packed sculpting rewards close inspection and gives collectors another completely different way to display the piece.
Closed, it functions as an oversized specialty challenge coin.
Opened, it becomes a miniature horror display.
Built for Collectors
The combination of working hinges, multiple decorated surfaces, deep relief sculpting, enamel accents, dimensional characters, specialty shaping, and a concealed interior scene makes this piece stand apart from a conventional challenge coin.
Whether displayed on a coin stand, inside a collector cabinet, or opened to showcase the interior artwork, the design was created to be noticed.
